ADOLESCENT INFORMATION: All the providers realize that there are many physical, social, and emotional changes that occur during this special time in your child's life. A key component to comprehensive care of adolescents is that there is a degree of trust between patient and physician. As providers we need our young adults to feel comfortable talking to us in a caring, safe environment. We give all patients from the age of about 13 and up the opportunity to talk to their provider alone. This helps facilitate a trusting relationship which enables us to effectively care for your child as they transition to adulthood. Other components of our adolescent care may involve assessment of risk taking behaviors, depression screening, substance abuse screening, sexually transmitted disease screening, and immunizations.
