Gastroenterology (GI) is the specialty of medicine that diagnoses and treats diseases of the digestive tract. Hepatology encompasses the diagnosis and treatment of the liver, biliary tree and pancreas. Ours is a comprehensive GI and hepatology practice, and we are fully accredited through JCAHO to perform office based endoscopy at our center, where more than 50,000 endoscopic procedures have been performed safely. Endoscopy and colonoscopy are essential tools in evaluating the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine (colon), and biliary tree. In our offices we perform colonoscopy, to examine the large intestine and rectum for pre-cancerous polyps and other pathology, and upper endoscopy, to evaluate the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum for various conditions including ulcer disease.
Several other ancillary procedures are also performed including:
1) Wireless capsule endoscopy, to evaluate various diseases of the small intestine.
The center has endoscopy procedure rooms, pre and post procedure patient areas and a comfortable waiting room for family and friends. Board certified anesthesiologists provide state of the art sedation providing patient comfort and safety. We provide flexible scheduling Monday through Friday and most major insurance policies are accepted.Our Infusion Center at the Huntington Medical Group offers convenience for patients who require infusions of Remicade® for the treatment of Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. Our infusion service is provided by an experienced nurse who specializes in intravenous treatments. Our nurse works closely with all the physicians and nurses in our practice in a team approach for your care. Our team will also provide ongoing assessment and evaluation as well as educational and instructional materials. We are committed to creating the best experience for our patients.
